Save Santorini's Dogs…Stop The Poisonings

After living on Santorini island in 2006 and learning of the atrocities to the street animals -- and even some pets in private, fenced yards -- I created this group in February 2009 to draw worldwide awareness to these awful killings.

Group info:2012: Since this group's February 2009 creation to alert the world to what happens on the island there has been a remarkable decline in incidents. We will always keep a close eye on Santorini's animals! Thank you for being here, efxaristo poli!

Santorini is the most beautiful, peaceful place on the planet but some villagers, particularly in winter, continue to poison the strays or put broken glass in their food to kill them, known as fola. A compassionate villager and group member, Anna Papanikolaoy, stays there EVERY winter to try to save and care for them. I created this group to help Anna spread the word worldwide and let island visitors know what's going on so perhaps they can come prepared to help! I lived in Oia village, Anna's area, in 2006, where we met and I learned so much more about the animal atrocities. -- Ginger Sprinkle, USA
